Thrash Metal Onslaught intends to be the one-stop for thrash metal news, stories and interviews. It was started by a huge fan of thrash (and hardcore) since the 1980s. After being handed a copy of Metallica’s “Kill ’em All” I was hooked and listened to everything back in the day and attended many concerts at L’Amour (Brooklyn, NY) , Sundance (Bayshore, NY), Ritz and CBGB’s (NYC, NY) and other venues.
Some of the best shows I saw during the 80s/90s were:
- Overkill at L’Amour
- Whiplash at The Animal Hall
- Sacred Reich and Atrophy at the Sundance
- Carnivore at L’Amour
- Kreator and D.R.I. at the Sundance
- Slayer and Testament at the Nassau Coliseum
- Gwar at the Ritz (and many more times)
- Death, Ludichri$t and D.B.C. at CBGBs
- Superbowl of Hardcore 2 and 3 a the Ritz (?)
After thrash made a resurgence in the 2000s I was fortunate to attend many other shows including:
- Atrophy at The Hub in Colton, CA
- Sacred Reich and Hirax at The Roxy
- The “Big 4” in Indio, CA
- EvilDead at the Union, Los Angeles
- Nuclear Assault, Toxic Holocaust, EvilDead & Hirax at the Regent Theater
- Cryptic Slaughter and Excel at the Regent Theater
- Death Angel at House Of Blues, Hollywood
- “Killian-on-Command” benefit in San Fransisco
