Aftermath

Of all of the demos I bought in the 80s/90s (and there were plenty) Aftermath’s Killing the Future ranks either #1 or #2 depending on the day-of-the-week– the other being Caligula’s Technical Aggresssion. You can’t go wrong with either and both stand the test-of-time but only Aftermath is back and ready to kill it… again.

If the first 2 tracks off their upcoming album are any indication I’ll be flying to Chicago (their hometown) to check them out when they start playing tons of gigs to support it.

The first track Aftermath released from their forthcoming There is Something Wrong album reminds me of why I loved, Killing The Future:

Smash, Reset Control

Recently, Aftermath released track #2 which is more of a blend of thrash and progressive metal:

FFF FalseFlagFlying

And of course, here is the demo that started it all, a thrash metal masterpiece:

Killing the Future

Following the amazing demo, Aftermath evolved into more of a progressive direction and released the Eyes of Tomorrow album. Supposedly the new album will be a blend of Killing the Future and Eyes of Tomorrow styles.

Searching Spotify for “Aftermath” isn’t likely to yield great results so, you’re welcome for providing direct links to their two releases and the only two releases from “Aftermath” that matter. The rest of the “Aftermath” releases that appear under their Spotify artist page are a mystery to me and an insult to the awesomeness that is “Aftermath,” but for completeness, here they are:
